Really got to remember this time, I DO NOT LIKE THE ANGELIC in Islington... It seems nice enough as a pub, but each time I've been there smy pint's been a bit funny, and I've had to return it... now this time they had no draught beers at all (have they given up?), only lagers, and not even a draught cider. And there was nowhere to sit. Final straw is that they insisted *this* was the vege roast potatoes and *that* wasn't, but they all had bacon in them. We only went there to eat before the David Devant gig, and didn't have time to get anything else. It was a good and rare opportunity to meet up with some friends, but even that led me to think "we used to do this all the time", which is now making me feel a bit worse for not being a better friend! Man there's a dark cloud over me today...
Bacongate didn't set me up right for the gig, and the fact it's in Islington Academy didn't help either. I was going to call it the worst venue in London, but to be fair I have trouble thinking of a venue I like. Am I just getting old?
Great turnout though, great set, and interesting to see the return of the wig! Two guitarists on stage for the encore, the sound should have been INTENSE, but it wasn't really, I blame the venue...

Where'd my username go? Ah well, today I put some new code up here on the board, and maybe it broke stuff. Also today, went to a new pub to meet some friends, The Angelic, in Islington. Best thing about the place is the FANTASTIC toilets. They have piped in stand up comedy, so you come back from the bog sounding all witty (or doing a really bad impression of Eddie Izzard or Peter Kaye), and they have statues and fountains and all that. They have their own beer on, though not in the toilets. I had a couple of pints of Angelic, very agreeable, and they have good looking meals and bar snacks.
Unfortunately today saw the release of the Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers special edition, and I have come home half way through it, so I am banished to the other room.
