Here was me thinking that David Devant and his Spirit Wife were going to gently fade away into a settled life of babies and fondue parties, but NO, they're BACK, with a new single and everything...
The band release "Contact" through Outstanding Records on Monday, you can hear a sample here, and then get ready to buy it...
They even have a new album lined up for the 19th of April "Power Words for Better Living", also on Outstanding. Right, how about them live dates then?
Looks like Outstanding Records is a spin off of the mighty Tunbridge Wells Forum, surely Kent's most ace venue.
PS Good morning all, sorry for not reporting in sooner, I had a breakfast meeting.

Yes, the festival, yes on the main stage. Blimey.
And you all scoffed when I started going on about this band... Right, the mighty Darkness follow hot on the heals of signing a hundred billion pound record deal with satan himself (or something, details are still sketchy) with a slot at Reading and Leeds Festival. They're playing the main stage Saturday at Reading, oddly NOT the traditional "rock" day, but they'll still be giving the likes of Blur and the White Stripes a run for their money.
Press release follow:
THE DARKNESS have seen their name go from underground buzz to A & R stampede in the short space of two independent singles. Taking their cue from the rock stylings of Queen and Bon Jovi, The Darkness are unashamedly stadium in all the right senses and their presence on the Main Stage will see them in the perfect setting. Flamboyant, totally oeuvre but yet a stunning live rock experience, The Darkness are here to convert more to their cause following an amazing set at Austin's music fest, South by South West. Prepare to clap in unison with your hands above your head, stadium rock has a new direction.
Oh also Staind have been added, and Grandaddy, and the Thrills and 80s Matchbox and Radio 4 and the Kills and Jet. But mostly THE DARKNESS.
Full lineups so far to follow this message... over...

Guns n Roses, Janes Addiction, Strokes an Pulp... looking good! Blimey, a hundred quid though...
Lineups for Reading and Leeds fest are out now, possibly you've seen them as I am quite slack... what do you reckon?
Leeds is arguably the better bet, as (as leaked by The Sun) Guns N Roses are an extra on that bill... they headline over Offspring, Prodigy, et al on the Friday at Leeds, Slipknot, Incubus, NOFX, Puddle of Mudd and Hundred Reasons, and it's all but G'n'R on Saturday at Reading... Strongest day imo is Friday at Reading (Saturday Leeds) with Strokes, Pulp, Janes Addiction, Weezer, White Strips, Dandy Warhols and Mercury Rev all appearing on the main stage...
Other day's main stage line-up is Foo Fighters, Muse, Ash, Sum 41, A, Less Than Jake and Andrew WK, with a special guest still to be confirmed...
Evening Session stage will be BRMC, Feeder, and Spiritualized, and The Streets will be playing the Dance stage...
Get your Reading Tickets here, or your Leeds tickets here... you can buy day tickets or whole weekends - Reading always sells out of weekend tix, so get in quick.
Beer Vouchers? What's that all about???
