Billy Bragg added to the Fleadh

Can't remember if I already posted this or not, but HEY, I'm excited, so I'm pleased to be announcing it again... The bard of Barking, Billy Bragg joins the main stage this year for an almost inevitable triumphant performance. Bragg released a great compilation album last year Must I Paint A Picture – The Essential Billy Bragg featuring highlights of his 25 plus years musical history. Described in the past as a ‘one man Clash’ expect incredible folk / rock / punk music matched with scathing yet witty lyrics from an inimitable artist.

As well as Billy B the lineup is as follows:

Bob Dylan + Counting Crows + The Charlatans + Christy Moore + The Delays

Borderline Stage

We already knew about Bob Dylan and Counting Crows playing the Fleadh in Finsbury Park in June, but here are the other acts that were announced at the launch last night:

Christy Moore, and his "unique blend of traditional Irish and folk music"
The Delays - from Southampton, but don't let that put you off
John Prine "cult US folk singer" it says here, sure to be a stunning show from a very special artist
The Laura Cantrell Band - not to be confused with Blue Cantrell. Laura was Vice President of Equity Research at the Bank of America - both rock AND roll
Kathryn Williams - we love Kathryn Williams
Nick Harper - son of Roy Harper, I bet he loves that being his strap-line
Laura Veirs - from Seattle

More to be announced, fingers crossed for Paddy Reilly everyone!

The launch do was at the Borderline, and we had free cider - Magners, ask for it by name.

London Fleadh

Fleadh launch was a nice opportunity for a free drink,though there was very little announce that hadn't already been leaked, only Christy Moore, but more will be announced soon.



Very busy at work right now, though I've been hassled less since losing my co-web guy pidster, I think people are giving me a bit of breathing space that I'm not sure I need. Still it's meant more chances to do a bit of quality editorial and revenue chasing, Google ads are doing very well as a result of people searching for tickets recently (Madonna, Glastonbury, Will Young and so on), I would imagine the actual ticket revenue is also up, though there's a delay in getting that. Anyway, Fleadh tickets here, other Bob Dylan tickets (he's the headliner) there...



I have no stresses at all about the flat to spew forth here today, maybe I'll disconnect the phone so no-one can get through and tell me something anything bad. The busses in were really smooth today, though not everything in the world is ace; my lovely rose of Clare is off sick.
