And it's only 16 quid... What hope is there for my collection of comics, that do not even include these rare issues? That issue is from a run of four that featured characters ripped off of other company's trademarks, including The Jolly Green Giant and Colonel Sanders, etc.. It was all done without permission, so was soon withdrawn and never reprinted. Well, never officially, but isn't the internet great. I have issue one, though without the free gift, which makes it next to worthless.
Bah.

From a mail sent to Dad:
I have located my notes about Mrs Clarke, and the accounts are as follows. I don't know how many accounts you have seen by her, but there was one in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on April 20th 1912, one in the New York Times on the same date, and one in the Chicago Daily Tribune, this time for April 19th. The details regarding the couple sleeping through the collision, and being woken by the steward are in the Chicago Tribune. The accounts I have listed can be viewed at Colindale newspaper library in London .
Back to me now, the newspaper library is part of the British Library, but is based up near Colindale on the Northern Line, read more about it here... We'll be heading up there at some point to try and find more reports. I'm also after old newspapers for some work I'm doing on my Folkestone gig archive, see pages for 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, etc...
They also have a big old
collection of comics too... Of all the literature in the world, what a thing for me to home in on...
