Featuring
CELEBRITY GUEST DJ SARAH CAWOOD
plus
very special live guests
SCHWAB
plus
the return of DJ Simon Price
plus
Resident DJs Miss JT, Billy Reeves & Hitman Hearn
SATURDAY 6th DECEMBER 8pm-late
at
THE WATER RATS THEATRE, Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross (nearest tube Kings
X)
Prices £4 with flier/Time Out Priority Card before 10pm/£5
otherwise.
Well boys and girls, the time has finally come - in more ways than one.
It's
like the planets all aligning at once! For not only is it Christmas
time,
Miss JT's 21st birthday again, Uncle Bob's 10th year of existence AND
the
100th club night we've ever done, BUT it's also time for us to wave
goodbye.
Maybe not forever - but it's time to call it a day on Bob's as we have
grown
to know and love it.
Yes, London's favourite long-running club night, that's propelled the
likes
of Sophie Ellis Bextor and The Darkness to fame and fortune, has
decided to
move on.
We may emerge, Mr Benn like, in another place and in an odd disguise at
some
point in the future - but who knows? To all intents and purposes, this
is
the end, my friends. So come and help us celebrate with the best EVER
knees-up so we can go out with a bang!
To help us make it the greatest night London has ever known, not only
is
Uncle Bob's Number One celebrity DJ, the luscious Sarah Cawood, gracing
our
decks once more, but legendary former Bob's resident DJ Simon Price is
back
for one night only.
PLUS we're proud to announce the return of Bob's live favourites
SchwaB.
This lot have got music lovers salivating on the eve of the release of
their
new single 'Bland Band Boogie' on December 1 through Foundation, with
X-Ray
magazine gushing: "SchwaB are an East London five-piece intent on
layering
sound to create a unique ‘fuzzy beats soup’. They sprang from the ashes
of
the larger Lucci Daddo Fuzz Orchestra, a band who took lounge music and
fuzz
pedals into house clubs. SchwaB have combined their love of Booker T
with an
exuberant, Jon Spencer-style frontman in the form of Paddy Austin.
According
to beats controller Rick Hudson, SchwaB’s aim is 'to capture the
essence of
good old records that people dance to'. With their clutter of car boot
sale
paraphernalia and keyboard player Mike Chesnutt’s secondhand
instruments,
SchwaB are a majestic live force and a soundman’s nightmare."
For more information, go to http://www.schwabmusic.co.uk
Band on at 9pm SHARP.
Plus Bob's resident DJs Miss JT, Billy Reeves and Hitman Hearn
will be there playing their favourite Bob's tracks of all time.
Tears will be shed, but most importantly, FUN WILL BE HAD with their
trademark mix of
the best youth club classics, disco trash, punk
stompers, sleazy listening, racy retro, drunken anthems, exotic
rubbish,
and perfect pop which have all added up to make Bob's the best fun
night
London has ever known.
As ever, there'll also be the Dance Like Your Dad competition,
giveaways,
Hat's
Entertainment, plus free booze for the first 50 in and naff nibbles as
per
usual.
AND DON'T FORGET - ALL DRINKS AT THE WATER RATS ARE AT PUB PRICES, SO
YOU
MAY AS WELL GET DOWN THERE AS SOON AS DOORS OPEN AT 8PM,
DONTCHA THINK?
Bob's is 8pm-late at The Water Rats
Theatre, 328 Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross WC1, near Kings Cross Tube.
Entry
£5/4 with flyer or TIME OUT PRIORITY card before 10pm.

Five bands, plus DJs, get to the Barfly on Tuesday night...
The Barfly... 9th October... Showcases the cream of In The City Unsigned... 5 bands
Span... Nylon Pylon... Serafin... Sikth... Bendy Toy... Geezers Of Nazareth and DJs.
Span - Norwegian 4-piece rock band less that 2 years old. Spent most of their time touring the fjords and hillsides of their homelands. ITC was
their first, and hopefully the first of many, trips to our shores. A blend of very noisy pop and kick-ass low down dirty rock 'n' roll.
Nylon Pylon - Hottest thing in Manchester at the moment is this afro-headed ensemble. They have been tempting the industry big shots from behind their polished oak London desks to go up north and catch the vibe. Spot the chequebook wavers in the crowd!
Serafin - Last year from the ashes of Stoney Sleep (V2/big Cat), came Serafin. Already they've supported and excelled with the likes of Muse and
JJ72. Destiny awaits - recognition in their own right is just around the corner.
Sikth - Great name for a great band. Very heavy, very loud - no prisoners taken here! Lauded by the rock press and radio alike and inevitably played to a full house.
Bendy Toy - Tipped by Radio 1 session in Scotland as someone to watch out for on 2001. Bendy Toy has gone live, taking his spring loaded repeats and demented organ out of the box and sitting them firmly centre stage. Highly rated both sides of the border with many evening sessions plays under his belt.
The Barfly, Chalk Farm Road, That London, tomorrow, seeya there...

Matt The Hat DJs at Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception Saturday night...
Matt The Hat, professional ligger and occasional drummer with Gene is the guest DJ at Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception on Saturday night...
The night is sub-title "Hat's Entertainment", in honour of the great man, and there may or may not be prizes for the best hat. I'll be wearing a homage to the Queen Mother, made entirely of rancid fruit, so look out for me...
There's also the regular shenanigans, and some free booze for the first 50 through the door...
The Water Rats, Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross, from 9pm...
