Former Loving Kind guitarist Noel Redding joins the musicians backstage after the show. Little does he know but his future band leader Jimi Hendrix is flying out from the USA tonight on route for London. [leave a comment]- Jimi Hendrix 1966I saw Jimi Hendrix in 1966 and What a night it was. I was a 14 year old aspiring drummer and was involved in the promoting of the gig by way of flying in the afternoon as the gig was hastily arranged on the day. The gear duly turned up and I had the honour of having a tap around on Mitch's drum kit. he played a Premier kit at the time. The gig that night was attended by approx 70 people all of whome couldn't believe their eyes. No one had seen anything like Jimi before playing one guitar with hi - djshax

- Weekend reportSuper weekend, starting with The Mighty Boosh at the LCH, funny, good, we felt a bit old though, they do attract a young audience, lots of whom were dressed up. I maybe enjoyed the show a bit more than my companions, though it did feel a bit like a cobbled together string of all the funny characters from the show. It felt like that because it was that, like the TV show and the radio show before it. A few drinks after this in The Clifton, and then home to our massive telly - sorry no pictures of -

Battle of the Bands type thing for Sellindge Festival.
[leave a comment]- Free gig Thursday to find the best local talent for music festivalBe there to witness the best local bands battling it out for a spot on the main stage at Sellindge Music Festival 2009. On 22nd January, SMF presented Heat 1 of the Main Stage Talent Tournament to a packed venue in Folkestone, and saw The Little Philistines and Burgundy making it through to the final. This Thursday, five more bands will play their hearts out in hopes of making it through. The bands include Watch This Space, Waterhorse, Us & Them, Monday Street, and Elephants. Two of these -
