Met John Deacon, added Queen...

Bitch Aid (the www.popbitch.com server appeal party) was a raging success last night, and literally LOADED with celebs. Well sort of. John Deacon was there, so in his honour, popEx now has it's second band starting with "Q"...

The early stages of the event were filmed by someone, and every showbiz type journalist in the world was there... if you've read anything about it in today's papers, post it up here!

The tunes were ace, in an "ironic rock" stylee (as favoured by Uncle Bob's, Radio Four, Club Beer etc), let's hope there's another bash soon...

Apologies to anyone who got a text message off me saying "IJUST MET JOEY DEACON" at about 2am this morning, I was very, very drunk.

PopBitch Fund Raiser Party

The biggest celeb of the night, and a very surprising one to bump into... more than a little inebriated he was too. He is a subscriber apparently. I spoke to him, but was too squiffy to ask him any details about the forthcoming link-up.

The fundraiser party ("Bitch Aid") was at the in , on the 18th of April 2001, and a good time was had by all...

Queen BACK!

We're not going to this, nor going to get the album I wouldn't have thought. Went to see "Queen" before with , and it was good to hear some of the tunes live, but it's probably best just to leave it. Also seems like a bit of a miserable git to me, from reading his blog and meeting him once. had the best idea, he had nothing to do with the show that we went to, last thing I think he was involved in was the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.

The band have also announced a Queen and Paul Rodgers 14-nation European tour, starting in September.

It will include UK dates in Nottingham, Glasgow, London, Cardiff, Birmingham and Liverpool.

They will also play in Russia, Poland, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Serbia, the Czech Republic and Austria.

Guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and Rodgers wrote the new album in late 2007 and early this year. It will be released on 1 September.

Bassist John Deacon, who retired from the music business in the late 1990s, will not take part in the tour.

Thanks to Andy for this news piece.
