Folkestone's biggest music venue, Official site here. Seems to get called the Leas Cliffe Hall quite a bit, like it is ye olde venueueue... See mentions of Leas Cliff Pavillion too, a mix up with this and the East Cliffs Pavillion I think.
UPDATE from the venue: . We find that people don't realise what we are so at least they might recognise it at street level. Could post this on the website instead of the current one?
The bar is far too busy when there's any sort of event on, have a drink before you go. They will try and stop you taking drinks from the bar into the performance too, but will eventually surrender to the masses by the end of the interval.

I've heard this mentioned before, it's making sense now, from this blog:
they made all previous supports seem like geniuses in comparison (and I include Sheep on Drugs at Folkestone Pavilion in 1996)
So something happened that night to get them kicked off the Gary Numan tour. So that places them and he in Folkestone, at the Pavilion, in March 1996, quite possibly with the lead piping!
Doesn't sound very likely that a major tour would be at the Pavilion though, I think it's the Leas Cliff Hall again, and this gigography says so too (although it says Leas Cliffe Hall).

Another bit of Folkestone Rock History here.. According to www.delta.se/~henke/samson/biosam.html Samson played their first ever gig at Leas Cliff Hall, supporting Steve Gibbons Band. Nope, me either...
Bruce Dickinson left Samson to join Iron Maiden. But he wasn't actually in Samson at the beginning, and so wasn't at this gig. So a bit of a rubbish mention really.
They played their first gig on September 24th 1977 supporting the at the Leas Cliffe Hall, Folkestone. They were billed as "McCoy", but were immediately rebooked to appear as Samson.
