RE: clarkes in USA and Canada
Home
I am descended from two branches of Clarkes--one, William Clarke, left the Nottingham area (he had previously been a lacemaker in Calais) for Canada in 1845. I've got lots of information on that branch. The other, Florence Clarke, left the Haggerston area of greater london in 1919 for Canada. I've less information on that side. Her father was a gilder. Any information appreciated.

Hi David,
Sorry have not traced any Clarke's to london or Nottingham as of yet. The only Clarke that went to the USA never made it. That was Charles Valentine who was lost on the Titanic.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
