Windebanks of wield.
Home
in a recent article in HGS magazine someone tracing north hants windebanks mentionned the wield lot, and stated that they were supposed to be a colateral branch of the windebanks descended from Sir thomas Windebank of Haines Hillhurst, Berks 1538 - 1607.
can anyone add to this as the wield windebanks start with Nicholas, bn 1679, there are earlier ones ie Simon of Hartley maudit 1623, Simon of farringdon 1650s, there is an entry for the baptism of Rebecca dau of Thomas + Elizabeth 21 feb 1638 though this may be a mistake as there is an entry same people but date 21 feb 1738
There are early Windebanks in KENT marriage of Aaron + Mary Spritwell 22 Nov 1581
But the earlier family seem to come from Wragby and Otley in Yorkshire with an entry for John bn 1526 m Agnes lawe 13 Apl 1548
anyone any ideas on this!!!
By the way my interes is 3 henwood brothers marrying three windebank sisters from Wield 1760s-1770s

Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become.
