Something Apparently "as Pikey As Wilkinsons" To Open In Folkestone

What on earth could that be? And HOW on earth could it be? I'm still reeling from the thought of that new shopping centre opening with a pound store in it on its very first day. Now Wilkinsons opens today, some good bargain drain unblocker and that but not really adding much to the town, and today the wife heard a rumour on the train that something even lower down the social shopping spectrum than what we already have is on it's way. Does anyone dare to imagine what this might be? We've already got a Woolworths, and a Lidl (or is it an Aldi)?

Shop owners tend to do market research, which is why M&S closed down, why Sainsbury's in town can't sell any of their top-end lines and why we're getting a Wilko rather than a Waitrose. You can't expect a bevvy of blue-rinse bingo-bothering biddies to turn their back on a lifetime of industrial-strength girdles and tinned food just because a few newcomers fancy a bit of a property boom.

(and the wife says "I've been here nearly twenty years")
I thought Sandwich was nice from brief visits, but when I saw it on that wild food programme, I'd never seen somewhere I've wanted to visit less. And I've been to Blackpool. Are you from there?
