** CALLING ALL ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS AND SCULPTORS!

Each month, The New Inn will feature a selection of work from a hand-picked artist, sculptor or photographer. We are delighted to announce that our very first 'Artist of the Month' will be award-winning documentary photographer, Karin Albinsson. Originally hailing from Sweden, Karin is now based in Manchester where she has worked with named-artists such as Oasis, Paul Weller, The Smiths and The Stone Roses. Fresh from an assignment in the Sahara Desert (where she travelled by motorbike!) documenting the nomadic Berber people, Karin will join us in our artists grotto during lunchtime on Sunday 15th Feb. In addition, Karin has offered to take a free documentary portrait for each couple attending the Valentine's Dinner - an amazing opportunity!

Full details & stunning photography from this month's ARTIST IN RESIDENCE can be found at: new-inn.info

⬅️ :: Quarterhouse Month of Music announced ➡️
Fri Jan 30 2009

This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of enthusiasm when I first came to Folkestone in approximately '04. I'd been a regular visitor for a few years before that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site used to be a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar and voting for best venues and things, and I know it was a handy reference for others who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from the name of a fake newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
