Nice day in Folkestone
Home
I twittered from the beach, why did it say "from web"?
Went for a walk down to the beach and up through the town. Everything's looking GREAT down by the beachy bits, loads of people about, even live entertainment outside the pubs down in the harbour. Here's Clare by the beach:
See a similar view from 1920, or some more pictures if you're interested... Walked up the Old High Street, what a disappointment that is now, lots of places still not developed at all and most of the ones that were opened as something have now closed again. Maybe it was just too early before and it'll get a second wind, I hope so. The centre of town itself is still an abomination of course, but peripheries of Folkestone make this a really nice place to be sometimes.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
