Wii / XBox / Component / RGB question

Mar302010

2 boxes only 1 input of each what do I do?

I want to connect my old XBOX and the Wii to the telly at the same time, at the moment I'm swapping leads around which is a pain. I only have one RGB input and one component input, and currently I only have RGB output from each box. What's the best way forward? Not sure if I have any spare SCART inputs on the back of the telly. Is one of them going to be better via component than the other?

I do have a spare HDMI input on the back of the telly - had the telly five years and had no HD source in all that time, that was money well spent then...

Why not go scart for all of them and use one of these:

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000X4333E/?tag=clarkeology-21#AV-Control-Box-scart-SBX-94SE/?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270330811&sr=8-3

You don't get any cross interference on that one as you do on the cheaper alternatives...

I found a spare SCART socket, no need for a switch

I had a scart lead plugged in to the back of the telly but not going anywhere, the lead was just dangling down the back of the cabinet... must have been from when I plugged a video in or something. Found a composite (or do I mean component, looks a bit like this) -> scart converter so both the XBOX and the WII are plugged in now and everything is good. I'm probably not getting the best picture quality but that's fine for now...
