We have a bundle of Windebanks

Here's one John Windebank, maneuver your way around the family tree from there! Can you really trace them back that far? Would be very interested if there was some connection in to ours. My great great great grandfather had a daughter Caroline Clarke who married John Windebank. They're all in Hampshire, do you mean Bentley rather than Bently?

There's a Titanic connection looks like:

Harold Sanderson the owner of the White Star Line learned of the sinking of the Titanic whilst at his home Jenkyn Place in Bentley.

RE: We have a bundle of Windebanks

I have briefly dabbled in my family's history, with almost no success. But just in case someone here can connect some dots, my grandfather was John Edward Windebank, but the dates don't match with this tree. His final son--Robert Henry Windebank (my father)--was born in Eastbourne in 1907. Robert Henry had one older brother (John or Jack) and two older sisters. The brothers moved to Canada before WWII.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
