Rate Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception
Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception was a Camden institution from 1994 until 2004. A night born of the fashion for collecting Space Age Batchelor Pad and Car Boot Disco it also was THE place to be seen.
Uncle Bob's worked with the likes of Oasis, Blondie and Ash in its heyday and was an important gig for artists on the way up too, granting first London gigs for The Darkness, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Hard-Fi. Regulars at Uncle Bob's at the time were Meg Matthews, Lauren Laverne & Abi Titmuss.
The Club folded after a six-figure deal with Sony Records went pear-shaped; but - to celebrate co-founder Miss JT's 40th - Bob's returns for one night only - 18th December to its first home: Upstairs at the Relentless Garage.
The evening will see a live performance from the radical R'n'B rockers who got stuck behind the Iron Curtain, Thee Faction, as well as Miss JT, Hitman Hearn & Billy Reeves playing scratched 45s. You'll be encouraged to cut the cake, throw the bouquet...and dance like your Dad!
Relentless Garage? How things have changed...
