A fraught morning of rugby and a lovely walk
Home
Just watching the highlights of the rugby now and it's reminded me to pick up the laptop and say something. We were up fiendishly early this morning to go to Dom's and watch the England / Argentina match. Was looking pretty hairy all the way through, not good to see Jonny Wilkinson miss so many kicks, but at last good to see a win, and reassuring to see no tries against us. Not a good game, but when all's send and done, to be honest, I'm not being funny but, at the end of the day, a result is a result.
After Harry's nap we went to Clare's work. There is a walking festival of some kind happening later in the year, involving the National Trust. Dover White Cliffs is the only site that is going to do a mass participation event, and they wanted some pictures to promote the event. So, a group of us, all staff and families went on a lovely walk along the cliffs and someone took some pictures of us en-route. Being non staff myself I had to sign a "model release" form. Expect to see my image used to promote the National Trust in all sorts of inappropriate media in future. We had a really lovely day.
Dinner later at Googies in Folkestone. We tried a lot of places to get a proper dinner that would suit the two fussiest eaters in the world (pa in law Jim and me) and Harry, and Clare and her mum too. Surprising how hard it was to find somewhere to suit us all, and that was serving food at the right time. Googies came up trumps.
Having a lovely evening of TV, watching more rugby plus this old house and some the cure at bestival on sky arts. Hell yeah it is my lie in tomorrow!

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
