Wedding venues in Kent

Following a link from the London By London mailout about civil wedding ceremonies, I have found a list of approved venues in Kent... not sure who they're approved by, the list is shorter than I thought! We might start looking this weekend, to give us an idea of how booked up they'll be, and what sort of timescale we're looking at, we were guessing at least eighteen months.

Not particularly pleased to be back at work, wish I was still in Folkestone faffing about in the flat and eating out, but these things have to be paid for, and quickly if mortgage rates are doubled as has been suggested... Hmm, whenever I search news.google.co.uk for a story I've read in the paper, it's always the Scottish papers' websites that are most up to date.

Got a few bits of domestic admin to sort out this week, had a pile of mail in the flat, including two notices about cutting off the water supply as the flat is empty. They don't seem to have done it yet, but I need to apply for an account, and pay about 200 quid of water rates for the year up front. Also got to sort out the council tax, I am not sure what sort of discount I can get, hopefully one for single occupancy or one for a second home, otherwise it's a bit steep paying twice. Still no idea who's providing the leccy and the gas, but the electric at least still seems to be connected. Do I just wait for a bill or what?

I had one bit of mail that was addressed to a dance school at the flat - no wonder the people downstairs are concerned about the noise if there's been tap classes going on there...

*tsk*

well of course you shouldnt wait for a bill Pauly!!! you should take readings IMMEDIATELY. ring up any old electricity & gas company - ask them if they supply you - if not they give you a number to ring which tells you who your supplier is. you then ring them, give your reading and hey presto. trust me, you will never beat the system by pretending you dont exist!

in other news: who is this mystery person emailing you? i must say, we've all wondered how you seem to have so much money - wouldnt have thought you earnt enough to be swanning around hatton garden (right near our offices incidentally)...but wot do we know?!

also, why dont u get married in Canterbury - somewhere by the river would be nice

Good choice... I'm not planning to beat the system, I just wasn't sure to find out who my supplier was without a bill or some notice. Got the water and the council tax sorted now anyway.

I am wary of ringing any old supplier, as I know what a devious bunch they are, and they'll take any opportunity to install themselves as my supplier, this happened to me when I lived in New Cross.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
