I am researching my husbands family. His g g grandfather was Thomas Tribe born in Bedhampton in 1834.He was a blacksmith.I am sure that there must be a connection but cannot find the link. Perhaps his brother was George born 1839?? Any clues would be much appreciated. his wife was Mary Jane ?( possibly Sanders )

Hi Cissie,
My Sarah Tribe married James Cole Clarke in 1849 at Midhurst. Her father was Thomas Tribe (a Master Blacksmith) her mother might have been Martha.I found a Thomas Tribe (aged 52 born Lurgashall Sussex ) on the 1881 census with a wife (aged 54 born Fenhurst) and daughter (aged 25 born Midhurst) both named Jane. The ref is RG11 1131/10 page 13. Hope this helps.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
