Quiz night at the Nobody Inn worked out quite well, we came third, and won a big bottle of vodka. The music round was to name 10 of the first 12 vocalists on the new Band Aid Single, and the picture round was highway code signs... that's where we let ourselves down, being four non drivers.
New link for the day blogtorrent.com, bittorrent hosting made simple apparently.
Looking forward to our weekend in Folkestone, down to Chambers tonight, then a trip to Canterbury tomorrow and some sort of pub crawl, just me and Clare...

im here. been poorly with glandular fever and am writing from me bed.
was wondering if you knew off the top of your head where i could get a decent amount of webspace with some email accounts chucked in? i would be willing to pay a bit...if i have to!
also, ive just listened to the engagdet podcast - i thought it was very good although im not so keen on the political musings of people like that...i'm not saying his views are wrong, they're just not very considered. i also love the way when any of the authors of p2p software get interviewed (e,g, bran cohen) they all totally deny using their software to share copyrighted material!

Knocked me out for weeks, hope you get better soon.
Depends what you want to do with your webspace, I use uksolutions.co.uk, mostly because I always have done, they give full shell and database access, handy for developing things. I heard via the Coverville podcast that his hosting company give 1000 email address and 75GB of data transfer a month for $5.95 or something like that, which is A LOT less than I'm paying... There's a link to who they are on coverville.com... let me know how you get on... what are you going to do with it?

I see Coverville have exceeded their bandwidth!
Muddy

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
I'm going to go over mine this month I think, I am up to 4.9GB and I have a limit of 5GB, I have to decide today whether I want it just to cut out, or for them to charge me for the extra... 5GB is a bit of a weedy limit, when Coverville's is 75GB per month and they pay less...

to fancy im afraid...just wanted to *finally* get round to designing a website. and phase 2 of the project would be learning how to put a blog in there.
as for the email addresses, i normally use the one my isp gives me. but bulldog were charging for theirs, so i allowed them. prob a good thing - it's irritating that every time you change your isp u have to chage ur email address. but anyway, having read your thing about gmail's pop3 abilities, maybe i'm not that bothered . i do want pop3 though, so i can synch it with all my gadgets and gizmos.

im slightly concerned about the legal implications of having my site hosted in america. presumably, that means the content of my site subject to US laws, which worries me, particularly on *ahem* copyright related issues!
ideally i want to be hosted from a massive floating polar ice cap.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
