Ooh, now the site is down again

Not sure about this...

Dec12004

BBC says Internet portal Lycos has made a screensaver that endlessly requests data from sites that sell the goods and services mentioned in spam e-mail.

Fighting traffic with traffic, sounds a bit rum to me.

Maybe it's already been brought down

makelovenotspam.com seems to be down now... overpopularity, or a deliberate attack by evil hackers and spammers? If they've been the victims of a DOS attack, they're in no position to complain...

Wow

Seems to have worked according to Auntie.

What's next then? It's not the spammers themselves they're targetting here, it's sites that have used the spammers services to promote their sites. It's taught them a lesson, but not done anything to put the spammers out of business.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
