Christmas day's the next quiz
Home
Here I was thinking that everyone between the ages of 16 and 60 had left town in a hurry... I moved down here last December (in fact, today is my year's anniversary), trading a tiny 2-up-2-down in Streatham for a monster Victorian place close to Folkestone town centre (which is costing me a fortune to do up).
Restaurants - try The India on Rendezvous Street, the food IMO is a lot better than the New Delhi (altho' the service can be slow), or there's a new one in Elham - the "Blue Vinny" - which looks quite posh, and will apparently be the subject of a TV programme next autumn.
I'm not sure of blogging etiquette re. e-mail addresses, but I'm keen to meet people locally, especially anyone who plays squash, cricket or five-a-side footie at a poor standard, or who fancies starting a crap rock covers band. My e-mail is michaelgalvan@yahoo.co.uk. Oh, and I'm ALWAYS up for a pub quiz...

Don't be rubbing it in about your enormous mansion, we have traded in rented flats in the London for another flat in Folkestone, albeit quite a nice one... good to know there's more people out there in the same boat!
I Don't do sports, but there does seem to be quite a covers band scene in the area, see mrgig.com for more, and let me know if you form a band!
Next quiz we're going to is on xmas day at Chambers... it does seem like there are only stumbling pensioners and teenage car thieves in town at times, but my theory is there's a big population of cultured nobs like us, waiting by the front door ready to burst onto the streets and reclaim Folkestone as a Nice Place...
This website's my small attempt to stir up interest in things that I like, though as you can see it's a bit quiet so far...

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
