eXeem is a brand new Peer-To-Peer program, which is based on the BitTorrent idea. eXeem eliminates the need for trackers as nodes in the program will be taking their role. eXeem also features easy publication of files to the network as well as a rating and comments system.
Sounds alright, will give this a go later, it's one of the "hot links" doing the rounds on popdex.com and del.icio.us today, along with bunny suicides.
Weekend was great, got a few more wedding things sorted, tried out a new pub, finally used up some of our Sainsbury reward card points. That's FREE SHOPPING right there! Had a bit of a novel weekend really, we didn't go to Chambers at all, even though we walked right by it. Also we stayed in on Friday night, and generally didn't do all the group going out drinking action that we normally do. It's good that we can entertain ourselves!
On a techie tip, still feeling pleased that my free iMac is working - figured out that even if we just use it as a bedroom DVD player it'll be worth having, so hoping it'll play the Angel disks that our PS2 won't. Finally got the SCUMM VM working on the Pocket PC and played a bit of Monkey Island on the bus into work todday. And popex behaved itself all weekend, and I'm making more progress on some work projects, surely something huge is bound to go wrong soon...

check out exeem lite - exeem has some spyware which gets installed without warning (ad stuff served by cydoor).

You're right, how rude, exeem contains spyware... thought they say on their site "exeem contains no spyware", tech-recipes.com (among others) say
"The makers of eXeem (like Kazaa) have decided to make money on their program by bundling spyware with it. You can not install eXeem without installing the spyware.
The spyware it installs is cydoor and is easily removed by most spyware removal programs.

the whole eXeem thing has been a major disappointment. it was billed as a next big step in p2p but basically it is an amalgamation of an edonkey client with bittorrent with some spyware chucked in. it was implied that it would be untraceable as it did have central servers like edonkey or trackers like bittorrent but in fact it does and it'll still be obvious to trace who is downloading what. ..although im sure it's only a matter of time before something decent that does this comes out - there's already stuff out there wot does this, but it's crap apparently.
also, do you ever listen to music on your ipaq? i got an SD card, whacked some tunes on there and got winamp...all very tasty. not bad quality sound...ideal for shortish journeys - although the upload speed from pc to ipaq is proper slow for some reason.
afternoon.

haven't listened to music at all on the IPAQ, I have the IPOD with me more often than I am carrying my little professor... I should have a go really, and I'm sure I will soon... might end up giving the IPOD to Clare for commuting, so could chuck some tunes on some cards for the IPAQ I suppose...
Hmm, it's you again, this thread appears to have no replies... Cheers for the exeem feedback too.
