This is complicated, but looks COOL. An offshoot of Google Maps Hacks...
UPDATE: Not so complex, but how long will Google let this be done? Or maybe they'll put something like this in as a real feature..? Check out my Earl Grey page to see it in action... not tried putting more than one landmark on a page yet, shouldn't be a problem though...
UPDATE: obviously this went on to become a major feature of google maps! I did write this back in 2005...
