I'm giving up on my home grown mushrooms now, I only got two harvests out of them, I don't think I kept them warm enough .Now I'm moving on to herbs, I bought a little propagation starter kit at the weekend from Morrisons, with some seed mint, thyme, chive, and basil.

We grew some of those home mushrooms once and left them to grow in the darkness of the garage - after the first crop we went back there a few weeks later and the whole thing was just full of mould and flies. Smelt nice too. Wonder if the cats found it and thought it was a nice new litter tray?

It's more of an indoor window box

No, I said above, it's four little rows of seeds, one each of Chives, Basil, Mint and Thyme... it's not even really a propagator, it's a plastic tray with a clear plastic lid, 1.99 from Waitrose, including the seeds... I'll post a picture tonight.

I thought it would all just grow and they'd be ready to eat in a couple of weeks, but apparently I have to pick them out and replant them in proper pots and that. Bring your green fingers next time you come down!

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become.
