Drinking in Fareham

MESSED UP the Fareham drinking by getting there too late and missing everyone, damn trains and tubes... was surprised by how much Fareham had changed, there's a lot of development in the town centre, what has been car parks for years is now huge buildings. Also the pubs have changed, went to the Red Lion for one, was nice but quiet, but had to fight past the masses at what was The Bugle. It's now the Brass Monkey, and it's open until 2am, unheard of in my day.

Forgot to take a key to my parents house so was sat on their doorstep when they rolled in from their night out, bah.

Ambush Paintball

Got roundly thrashed at Ambush paintball (do you think they have clearance to use those maps?), which made it a bit disheartening towards the end of the day... could have done with just half a day of it, and slightly more even teams. Miss! Bigger Boys! And they're CHEATING! The kit was better than the other time I went (about 8 years ago), though I won't be rushing back there. It's satisfying shooting, but it works out quite expensive, we did about 50 pounds worth of ammunition each.

Chutney's

Had a few beers in Southampton, on London Road, not sure of the first place, but then went to a Wetherspoons, and then on to Chutney's Curry House... don't remember too much of it, except I ate a lump of chicken that was lurking in a dahl, and that they really really take the piss with their dish names... I spotted one dish being called a "Roald Dahl" and also "Murhg Aloo Jefrotul", so I, uh, wrote down a quick copy of everything on the menu so I'd remember to point these out to people later... checking again at home, I also see "Aloo Veera", "Wingstingas", "Sorboti Kebab", "Aloo Aloo", "Jhingla Bells", "Morkanmhindi Biriani", "Dhogsbreth", "Ayre Zrock", and best of all a "Murgh Kurma Duyurazafava"...

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
