Got The Cooper Temple Clause's debut EP...

Got The Cooper Temple Clause's debut EP at last... Opening track "The Devil Walks In The Sand" is five minutes Led Zeppelin, but it's not just heads down rock, there are LAYERS to it...

"Solitude" is an effects laden instrumental track, but with what sounds like a faint poetry reading over the top. It turns out to be someone reading lyrics from The Moody Blues' "The Day Begins" - you think I'm taking the piss now, but I SWEAR it's true

"Way Out West" is a bit 'Zeppelin again, but maybe more like The Stone Roses doing "Fade To Black" - hey, I know it's cheap to say "this sounds like this", but these are my impressions - there are plenty of "sonic cathedral" column inches out there. It builds up gradually into a cathed... NO! It goes a bit hectic towards the end, just after another "reading" - this time it's Ogden Nash's "Mules"...

Last track "Sister Soul" is a lighters in the air slowy, sounds a bit U2, doesn't really come across as an epic, but it's surely a grower...

The sleeve, for people who like this kind of super fanboy detail seems to be a close up of some guitar leads plugged into an amp.

Latest news is that it will be called "The Hardware EP", and be released on the 12th of March. And that is the end of my review.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
