James WEEKS
Home
In 1881 James Weeks and his family were on Alderney and James was a Captain in the Militia. At that point they had seven daughters one of whom was Emily Sophia. (see http://www.familysearch.org)
The 1891 census shows the family (now increased by two sons) in Portsea. The eldest Ann does not show in the household and maybe had married by then.
James's daughter Eleanor Marion (sister to Emily Sophia) was my grandmother and married Charles Johnston. They spent 20+ years in India until he died in 1926. Marion returned to England and gave her residence as Teddington in Middlesex but we have been unable to find any trace of her there or since.
