GLC UK Tour

Feb232004

You knows it!

Newport hiphop heroes Goldie Lookin' Chain have confirmed details of their first full UK tour... you knows it, clarts!

The "Draw-Based Confusion" tour includes dates with fellow countrymen Super Furry Animals, and follows recent appearances with The Darkness and The Streets.

The kappa-clad rappers, who recently blazed a live four-letter trail across the Radio One airwaves as guests of Zane Lowe, will play with the Furries at Cardiff CIA (April 2) and London's Carling Hammersmith Apollo (April 8) as well as their own headline dates in Scotland and England.

Rapper Chon Benwa Balls said: "We're on a Starbucks-style mission to invade all the regional territories of this country."

"It's an experiment in terror. We want to bring the same amount of angst and fear that we experience in Newport to places like Norwich, Middlesbrough and Tunbridge Wells - our brothers in concrete."

"Tunbridge Wells - that's a spa innit, spa?"

Two weeks ago, the GLC played to a sold-out hometown gig at Newport City Live Arena, where the 1,500 capacity crowd included their local MP, pro-cannabis campaigner Paul Flynn!

The full GLC tour goes like this:

Gloucester Guildhall (April 1), Cardiff CIA with Super Furry Animals (2), Middlesbrough Empire (3)
Glasgow Cathouse (4), Leeds Cockpit (5), Leicester Charlotte (6), Bristol Bierkeller (7), London Carling Hammersmith Apollo with Super Furry Animals (8), Exeter Cavern (10), Manchester University (13), Oxford Zodiac (14), London Mean Fiddler (15), Tunbridge Wells Forum (16), Birmingham Carling Academy 2 (17), Sheffield Fez Club (19), Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (20), Reading Fez (21), Norwich Arts Centre (22), Nottingham Rock City (24)

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
