Portentous

Strange air about the world today - it's a fabulous day here in London, but the light and atmosphere feel a bit WEIRD. Could be that I've headed into town half an hour later than normal, or an actual armageddon could be on the way. Came into Cannon Street as a result of being a bit late too, my normal walk in from Charing Cross is a bit dull really, but strolling through "old" London the buildings and so on are more pleasing on the eye. Saw a delivery of evil doers into some court or other, and also a convoy of high powered unmarked cars (unmarked except for the blue lights) escorting someone through the red lights on Farringdon Road too. Quite possibly Cherie Blair on her way to a yoga class or something.

Been doing a stack of messing about with Javascript and CSS, finally getting to grips with what's what in the CSS, though it may not appear that way from the site right now... It's in transition, bit of experimenting going on, that's why it might look a bit geek-pie in places.

"Gene Simmons' Family Jewels" is coming to TV soon, according to kissonline.com, it'll be his version of "The Osbournes". I love KISS, but I can hardly bear to see him speaking on TV in "Rock School", so this is likely to be dreadful. If it takes off over here it might inspire some live dates though I suppose.

Squirrel news: student blames squirrel for getting him into trouble, actually it's student writing to college paper complaining about squirrel that gets him into trouble. Kind of topical, and I will be passing it around at work, as they might be going for a pass card type system in the office. BTW, sorry for teasing with yesterday's uproar at work comment.

RE: Portentous

It's odd blaming squirrels and other furry woodland creatures for acts of evil. Donnie Darko had a gory looking rabbit telling him to burn things down. The world says he must have been mad because he saw a rabbit.

Terrorists, and the prime minister have God telling them to blow things up. No one calls them insane.

God hasn't visited the flat, but I keep seeing a squirrel in my garden, and I think it is real. So far it hasn't made me feel like dropping bombs on anyone.

OK I think it's cool now

It wasn't really that exciting, our office was burgled. When I got in the place was crawling with cops, and then soon after the full CSI team arrived dusting for fingerprints and things. Seems we were done over while there were still people in the building, and it seems a bit organised, but not really all that smart - things were cut away instead of being unplugged, etc.

Yes, of course, it was one of those big secure transporters driving into the back of the Old Bailey.

RE: OK I think it's cool now

ahhhhhhhhh - my curiosity has been sated...for now.

also, i should mention that i think that the thing (not quite sure how to describe it, but the way replies to comments and stuff looks) you've done in the last day or two looks much better.

have a merit mark.

yeah cheers, I think it looks alright too!

I changed some fonts and some sizes and some spacing and things... I think I mistakenly said javascript in today's original post, I meant to say CSS. So now you know how to describe it next time!

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
