RE: Cheers, sounds good

Got on the train at stupid o'clock as usual this morning to hear an announcement apologising for the late running of the service. Assumed the announcement was the mistake, but NO! Our train had been replaced by a late running earlier number that was then going to go direct to London with no stops. So we got in about twenty minutes earlier than usual. Could do with something like that going on every day - look, there's no need for expensive new track and trains, just don't stop anywhere between Folkestone and London and that's the job done! Slept pretty smoothly all the way in (though for only just over an hour this time), and then had to go for a coffee with the wife so as not to be too early into work...
Fun link for the day my pics on zooomr, I just can't resist handing over all my details to these Web2.0 outfits. Fun link for yesterday is this Simpsons maker.
I did transfer a load of photos from [froogle=sony ericsson w810i]the new phone[/froogle] to the computer but haven't put any online yet. The videos need converting from their 3GP format before I can go editing them together, and the photo's were really nothing to write home about...
Ooh yeah, I did some style updates here, see I'm using these cool dates now, do you like them?

I like the idea of zoomr, but I couldn't be bothered moving my pics from flickr.

Hi There,
I just spied your web log today after looking around for something to show me how I can participate in Roger de Haan's excellent plans for Folkestone. I lived in Hythe for 10 years before moving back to London and have just bought and moved into Folkestone yesterday. I am starting my own business whilst working full time in London with a view to ending the commute in a year for a more relaxed life.
Foolishly, I took the earlier train to Charing Cross this morning when the cannon street one was cancelled.
Any suggestions on how I can help Roger's plans for Folkestone?
Thanks,

I think all the contact details you need will be on the Creative Foundation website, but please check out my Folkestone (and Hythe and things) site, and report back with how you got on...

Hey Paul,
Nice to meet you this morning. I spoke to the creative foundation this morning who have suggested that I write to Roger's PA, Linda Hodben, to register interest. Sounds like quite a formal way to go about it. I might try and get her phone number first.
Really enjoyed West Wing this morning it was the televised debate with richie and the OC election campaign and it looks like Sam Seaborn might become elected - I hope that doesn't mean he is off the show...
See you later,
Claire

Good luck with your approach, it looks to me like they must need people. I'll check out your business website later too.
When you're on the phone to Linda, see if they have any IT jobs going will you? I have been made redundant, been expecting it for a while but I finally have a leaving date.

I'm sorry to hear about your job. I will keep my ears open and your right I didn't want you to comment on The West Wing.
So are you hoping to find a local job? What kind of IT do you do?
claire :: 3 Aug :: 2006 :: Comment / reply
Mostly web based, my CV is here, going to cover the site with "job wanted" ads too... Hoping to find something local, though it looks like the local economy can't support my expensive lifestyle, so looking in London too. Would love to stop commuting, not sure we can afford it though.

I know what you mean. I would find it very hard to give up my job in London so I hope the business will take off soon.
I will forward your cv to my husband. He is an account manager at a design/advertising agency in Canterbury and he may be looking for a web guy :0)

I specifically do the database / back end / interactive stuff rather than graphic design though. Feel free to plug his business and yours on the Folkestone Gerald forum. I will be adding a classifieds section soon...

Yep. It is a tech head they are looking for. I dont imagine it pays enough though...

It's Kaddy, Kent area weather girl and TV presenter.
There should be cookies for all, cookies to share, plenty to go around, they expire pretty quickly for security reasons though... go on, post again, see if they're still there...

you're right - so it has done.
and yes, that isnt charlie dimmock and i was right the first time.....

The cookie will expire again in 24 hours I think. I'll either have to make it longer, or give you your own section of the site to update.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
