The work is good though, I'm quite getting into Drupal, the content management system and so much more. It's quite good to extend, though not using traditional object oriented techniques, it's a bit odd.
Train times did not work out at all, the office is just that bit further from Liverpool Street than I realised, and then there's the regular problem of any major station that it takes ten minutes or so to actually pass through it, then the tube was busy and slow and so I just missed the 7pm train from Charing Cross. Next one's not for an hour, didn't get home until 10pm :-(

I like Drupal too - it 'kinda 'just works'. Probably lots of code to write if you want to funk it up a bit though. You can try out a demo of it here at the marvellous 'Open Source CMS' site.
Also like TextPattern, as you know, though the developers seem to have stopped working on it and gone commercial - there's good community support though.
Current favourite is Serendipity, though it's more of a blog than a cms.
Enjoy the new job!

by the way - I got redirected here after posting that.

Still on the blog? It's not like PB that's redirecting people to the news admin page when they post on the eds board is it..?
Really liking drupal, yes it has been a bit fiddly to add new node types and that, but not that fiddly really all told, I've just about done the whole learning curve of that in a day.
I picked up this one because they were using it at a place I went for a job for once, and I wouldn't mind working there when they start hiring again next year, this skill will be a proper feather in my cap.

Sorry - that 'here' was meant to be a link but I used html rather than bbcode and forgot to come back and edit it.
It's very similar to the PB prob - I got redirected to your v old post about server being updated, and 'this post is four years old' or similar - right back to the first message I think. I'll see if after logging in to post this the old code is still there.
Second time I posted it worked fine - I would guess it's something to do with if you log in for the first time as part of a post with no current cookies, it redirects before loggin you in, then logs you in - if you see what I mean.

/blog/25/45/ or something like that, that was my error page, better change that! If the script times out, that's an error... bah.

aha - pesky timeouts. I only bought this G5 so I could type quicker - dual pentiums couldn't keep up...

I might replace this whole blog system with something like drupal... Not sure about every page being dynamic however, will have to look into that, don't want to create more load on here.
Next stop, popbitch!

wow - I installed drupal on one of the Fasthosts boxes - it looks fab! Not sure why I haven't tried it out before. Yet to use it in anger, but majorly impressed. Can it share the same login across site/forum/chat etc or is that something you'r writing?

I'm writing a game, I'm using drupal to handle logging in etc, the forum, and the content management for the game itself.

Over to you, discussion about anything local, but please be considerate... Folkestone on TV, Kent gigs, Find a flatmate, rent a room, property queries, current news, what's new, local events, for sale, local services, what I like about Folkestone, ask questions, offer advice, plug yourself... the more it's used the more useful a resource it will become. If you want a gig listed click here to add it (fixed now!), or just click here to post a message...
