Rumour has it that my great-great-grandmother purchased the Clifton Hotel for my grandmother (Mavis Gordon, nee Lyne-Smith) and her husband, Kenneth Gordon, to run. Can anybody substantiate this?

Can you lay any claim to ownership?
There must be a register of business ownership somewhere that could clear this up, have you tried the library?
