Snow today

Snow overnight, enough to cancel all trains heading out of Folkestone, so Clare had to work from home today. Apart from watching TV and shopping, I seem to have spent most of the day cooking a black bean and sweet potato chilli. And it's not very good. The taste is great, and the sweet potato is just right, but the dried black beans still taste like dried black beans. I soaked them overnight, I boiled them, and then I simmered them, what has gone wrong?
