Number one result for "Habitat Radius"

Was just trying to find the furniture we bought at the weekend, and all the top results are me, how strange. It's down to Habitat's website being quite bad, the whole flash interface makes it hard to index, so my pages are coming up top. ANYWAY, here's that dressing table we got off ebay:

Doesn't really look much there, but we're really pleased with it. We got about a third off buying it second hand, this stuff seems to keep it's value. Annoying now, but handy if we need to sell any of it. Next purchase, more \"Bergerac\" range oak furniture from John Lewis, not likely to see much of that come up cheap though unfortunately. Wish I could be a reseller for it, I'm top google result there too.

Spent the day in Tunbridge Wells, and had my second mushroom and truffle pizza in Pizza Express, even nicer this time. Tunbridge Wells was great, lots of individual shops, looking forward to going back there again. We found some more oak called Antix which kind of matches the John Lewis stuff, it's French again, maybe we should go direct to France and look for some furniture...

It's not all been about obsessive hoarding of furnishings this weekend though, we spent the evening crawling round the pubs of Folkestone, starting off with an overdue return to an old friend Chambers. Wouldn't you know it, it was house night again, so we left after a quick comple of pints. They must save their indie nights for the week, when it would be quieter, but it is annoying. Next stop was going to be The British Lion, but we got sidetracked by The Electric Beatles at Mustang's. Ropey sound quality, but good effort in terms of costume and that. After that on to The Ship Inn in the harbour, and a truly terrible singing keyboardist, then to The Mariner and a quite good Irish band, then last orders in The Guildhall and I can't remember what kind of music the duo there were playing for some reason.

Quiet day today.

Sorry if the site is flickering a bit, it's some JQuery javascript I'm trying out, going to do some more fancy dynamics on here soon.

Mustangs 5.07 pub bar booze pool :: [comment] :: [delete]

As previously reported, is up for sale. 70,000 for a ten year lease, and for that you get a 50% share of the fruit machine profits.

It's been many things in just the brief time I've been visiting Folkestone, I hope someone can turn it into something cool... I'd like to see it become a fancy chain pub I think, an or something, town could do with one of those. While most towns are keen to have less chain bars, Folkestone's not at that stage yet, we want to get them in so we can start complaining about getting them out!

Anyway, I guess just ask at the bar if you have 70k burning a hole in your pocket, though I wouldn't advise carrying it round that bit of town in cash... If you buy it, please install some real ales.

Folkestone mushroom magic

A very satisfying and self sufficient weekend, off to a secret woodland location to hunt for wild mushrooms. I was expecting a nice walk, an empty basket, and a pub lunch, but no! In about four hours of tramping we managed to bag a brace of chanterelles, several boletes, half a basket of "wood hedgehogs", and a lone Cep (AKA porcini). This was the prize of our expedition leader Dom, and it was quite a mighty specemin. We'd optimistically packed the , oil, garlic and herbs, so we cooked them up there and then, a fantastic vege feast, very . We're off again in a couple, but I can't tell you where in case you harvest them first. Hmm, were we harvesting or were we scrumping?

Saturday night we thought we'd try again, out of a sense of supporting a new restaurant in the area, but they were fully booked. A good sign, our work here is done, for now. There's a new wine bar opening up a couple of doors along from , and possibly another new venture in town as is up for sale, 70k for a ten year lease. Maybe following recent coup of getting in, the could expand into it, make some kind of super venue?

Went to in the end, pleassant enough but yet again their only draught beer was off. Today was sleepy for me but energetic for Clare, she went horseriding with Dean, his birthday treat.

Our sea view is now much improved, possibly by . He was outside our house last Friday, opening a new care home just across the street, and at about the same time a slightly crabby tree that was obscuring our view of the sea was cut down. Nice one Mike!

Saw the tackiest boy racer accoutrement ever last week - revolving hubcaps, so the car looks like it's wheels are spinning away while at a standstill. If these are yours, be ashamed, be very ashamed.

Turtuous journey home, diverted to , so ed it. Very slow.
