Are you down with OPP?

The excellent Other People's Photographs project has been absorbed into some Channel 4 project and is putting their name to www.opp2.org. Only two pictures posted there from Folkestone, no actual connection with the OPP project as far as I can see so far. I will post my picture, that the Strange Cargo people used for the project, only seen it on the interactive cashpoint type setup so far though, not on an actual street sign.



Again this is from a freesheet, they say there's an exhibtion of the photos at the "St George's Gallery", I think it's called George's House though. Will go there tomorrow and check it out.

Um, I can't think what though.

Whatever happened to other people's photographs, I thought they were meant to be on display at Bouverie Place. They used one of my pictures, but no sign of it so far...

The Sound Lounge?

What was / is The Sound Lounge then? This case study from CABE, regarding the building of the SAGA HQ in 1998 mentions it. Did it come and go? Or is it now known by another name?

Already there are early signs of success. On the harbour is Chummy's seafood stall. Strange Cargo, a carnival and celebratory arts company is established in its offices and gallery in the Old High Street. The Sound Lounge, a music venue, has recently opened in Tortine Street. The Metropole Arts Centre provides a focus for the visual arts and acts as a motor for the creative quarter, the plans for a new sculpture park on The Leas and the burgeoning Folkestone Literary Festival.
