first home rugby match of the season.
Glastonbury 1994 My first Glastonbury festival, went in my van, hard to fault the lineup on the NME stage... Blur, Pulp, Oasis, Beastie Boys, Bjork, Manics, etc. Britpop-tastic. Glastonbury
The Tears plus The Subways. First official gig for Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler's new band, though they went and did a couple of sneaky warmups before this in Oxford and somewhere else. Not that great really. Heaven
Reading Festival 1999 Blur headlined, not a very strong lineup I don't think. I was working mostly, and managed to lose my first mobile phone that work lent me. Reading Festival
The Darkness First time I saw them, at Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception. Water Rats Theatre
Madonna Plus Hue & Cry and The Bhundu Boys, but not the rumoured Wet Wet Wet. My first concert, went with a friend from school and some friends of his dad. Sounds a bit weird now. Got the t-shirt, programme, every bit of junk going... Wembley Stadium
Anthrax plus Living Colour. My first proper gig, went up on a coach trip. See the patches on my denim jacket m/ Hammersmith Odeon
Love / Hate Plus my first time (of many) of seeing Atom Seed, and a couple of other bands. Happy new year! The Marquee
Art A play, a birthday treat, long running, had Art Malik in it and it was Frank Skinner's first night. Wyndhams Theatre
Primal Scream Some sort of all nighter, we didn't stay the pace. Was this the first gig with Kevin Shields? Brixton Academy
The Boo Radleys Was it Sigur Ros supporting at this one? Just around the time I moved to London, was this really my first gig of that era? The National Club
